Franke Foodservice Systems formed its Managed Solutions operating unit which will assume the role currently played by Facility Solutions, LLC. Franke acquired FSI, a Detroit-area project management and consulting firm serving national restaurant and retail chains, in December of 2017.

Middleby Corp. tapped Andrew Romaine to fill the newly created position of sales and culinary development manager for its Ventless Solutions Group.

Kyle Forman has become president of Krownea New Jersey-based foodservice equipment manufacturer. He takes over from his father, Roger Forman, who served as Krowne’s president for 36 years. Roger assumed the leadership post from Peter Miller, his uncle, making Kyle the third generation to lead the family business.

Taco John’s introduced Brad Bergaus as the restaurant chain’s corporate chef.

Lancer Worldwide tapped Barney Hinkle to serve as product line director – draft systems. Hinkle’s background includes work in sports and entertainment marketing at Anheuser-Busch.

Michael Montagano was promoted to CEO of Kitchen United, a ghost-kitchen operation. In addition, Kitchen United promoted Joy Lai to COO.

Frederick “Freddy” Simon, co-founder and namesake of Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers died on Oct. 25, 2020. He was 95 years old.

The members of the Commercial Food Equipment Service Association elected Kirby Mallon of Elmer Schultz to serve as the organization’s president.
