Panera Bread plans to hit the road – literally – with new locations in U.S. airports and travel centers. Family dining chain Cracker Barrel has made a $140 million investment in Punch Bowl Social, a Colorado-based eatertainment concept. A portion of those funds will go toward Cracker Barrel’s purchase of private equity firm L Catterton’s stake in Punch Bowl Social. The remainder of the money will go toward financing future development for Punch Bowl Social. The agreement also includes provisions for Cracker Barrel to potentially purchase controlling or full ownership of Punch Bowl Social in the future.
