The culinary team at QDOBA Mexican Eats will draw further inspiration from Mexico by way of Chicago. Katy Velazquez joins the Mexican-inspired chain as its new corporate executive chef.

Velazquez lived in Chicago for three years where she worked with chef-restaurateur, Rick Bayless. During that time Velazquez served as the kitchen director for Bayless’ PBS series, “Mexico – One Plate at a Time;” oversaw development of his cookbook “More Mexican Everyday” and was the culinary director of his podcast, “The Feed.”  Following her move back to California in 2016, Velazquez spent three years as the executive creative chef at Puesto, a contemporary, artisan Mexican restaurant with several locations throughout Southern California.
