Vollrath Company promoted Henry Case and Jill VanMenxel from regional sales managers to director of sales roles, both of which are newly created positions within the Vollrath Foodservice division.

In a deal valued at $190 million, MTY Food Group has reached an agreement to acquire Papa Murphy’s Holdings, a take and bake pizza concept. The transaction remains subject to customary closing conditions including receipt of applicable regulatory approvals.

Singer EVI added Jamie Gwynne Lackey to the newly created position of business development/sales manager. She will work with new clients to research their business and equipment needs for the foodservice design, equipment and supply company.

Frieling USA is now the exclusive distributor of Helios products for North America. A German manufacturer, Helios’ product lines include vacuum carafes for use in both commercial and home uses.

Brady, a full-line janitorial supply, equipment and foodservice distributor, promoted Alex Hay to general manager of its Denver operation and Trevor Foden to general manager of its Reno operation.

Jim Saunders was named chief operating officer for Grub, a 24-unit restaurant chain with a menu that features made-from-scratch burgers, shakes and more.

Cini•Little International promoted Kip Serfozo and Keith Short to director of design for the East and West Coasts respectively.

Wunder-Bar, a part of The Middleby Corp., has acquired the line of Starline bubblers from the Cleland Sales Corporation. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Irinox announced two updates to its sales team. Frank Becker joined the company as Southeast sales manager and corporate chef. Effective May 1, Michael Marsh will join Irinox as upper Midwest sales manager and corporate chef.

Four foodservice equipment manufacturers were among the 183 organizations and businesses honored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency with its 2019 Energy Star Awards. These awards recognize “businesses and organizations that have made outstanding contributions to protecting the environment through superior energy efficiency achievements.”

Hoshizaki America, ITW Food Equipment Group and Welbilt each earned Partner of the Year – Sustained Excellence recognition from the EPA. The EPA presents the Sustained Excellence Award to partners who have already received Energy Star Partner of the Year recognition for a minimum of two consecutive years and have gone above and beyond the criteria needed to qualify for recognition.

For the second year in a row, Foodservice Equipment & Supplies magazine will host a variety of on-trend foodservice equipment sessions featuring panel discussions with experts in the industry within the KI Showroom at the National Restaurant Association Show 2019. The event will take place May 18-21 in Chicago.

American Metalcraft promoted Lee Ann Kelly to vice president of sales, marketing and global sourcing. She previously served as vice president of sales and marketing for the Franklin Park, Ill.-based manufacturer.

With the hiring of restaurant industry veteran Michael Mabry to serve as its first-ever chief development officer, Fuzzy’s Taco Shop capped off an active four-month period spent rounding out its leadership team. During that time, Fuzzy’s also promoted Kevin Rychel to serve as vice president of operations and appointed Samir Wattar and Laura Purser to serve as vice president of supply chain and vice president of marketing, respectively.

The Boelter Cos. promoted industry veteran Jason Prondzinski to vice president of contract and design from vice president of sales. In his new role, Prondzinski becomes responsible for leading the Wisconsin-based foodservice equipment and supplies dealer’s nationwide contract and design team.

Winston Shelton, founder of foodservice equipment manufacturer Winston Industries, passed away on April 15, 2019. He was 96 years old.

Antunes hired Lance Thompson to serve as a product manager, overseeing the development of steaming products for the foodservice equipment manufacturer.
