Getting ahead in New York's fast-paced restaurant scene requires more than just an ability to hit the ground running and stay running. As our editor learned while spending the day with one of the foodservice industry's youngest and most accomplished dealer sales reps, providing service and value on the customers' terms is a must.

Scott Taylor's knowledge of and passion for the foodservice industry has kept him on the road to success. And now, that drive and determination to serve foodservice operators of all shapes and sizes has taken TriMark's Taylor to yet another destination: FE&S' 2011 DSR of the Year.

In addition to serving customers, many dealer sales reps at Edward Don & Company take on the task of mentoring the next generation of foodservice professionals who join their organization. Such is the case with Mike Perrino, FE&S' 2010 DSR of the Year, and Curtis Schatz, senior multi-unit director at Edward Don & Company.

Edward Don & Company's Mike Perrino pairs an intense customer focus with a sense of urgency to make good on his commitments to deliver positive returns on the investments made by his company and customers alike.

Michael Gold is what some would call a foodservice lifer, having started in the business during his formative years at the age of 15 by taking a job in a local restaurant. But what started out as a teenage dalliance has evolved into a passionate love affair that takes a back seat only to his wife and children. And that passion helped Gold become Foodservice Equipment & Supplies' 2006 Dealer Sales Representative of the Year.

Unwavering professionalism rooted in a pull-yourself-up-by-the-bootstraps work-style has helped define the career of Stafford-Smith's Cris Gross, FE&S' 2009 DSR of the Year.
