For many years now, I’ve been telling you just how wrong I’ve been about predicting the eminent demise of printed directories.
Turns out, this is a handheld device that people really like and frequently hold on to throughout the year as a trusted reference. As we continue to hone and perfect the FE&S directory issue each year, it is important to remember that it is not simply a directory of our advertisers. Any verified foodservice equipment and supplies manufacturer is encouraged to submit their information online. In fact, we actively seek to include manufacturers who are members of various organizations, including the North American Association of Food Equipment Manufacturers, regardless of whether they advertise in FE&S.
We think that this makes us unique and the directory a valuable resource for our primary customer: you, the reader. If you have ideas about how we can make it better, we would love to hear them.
We have several exciting changes in the works here at FE&S for 2020 and you will hear much more about them in the January 2020 issue. One spoiler: In the first quarter of next year we will unveil a completely revamped, mobile-friendly FESmag.com. Although a year behind the website revamp of sister magazine, restaurant development + design, it turns out that updating a website with almost a million pages of archived material takes a little longer to do right!
We are also gearing up for our third biennial FED event, September 29 thru October 1, 2020, in Chicago. More details and personal invitations to follow, but, if this of interest, please let us know early on as space will be limited.
