A pair of Ohio-based dealers inked the year’s first acquisition deal when The Wasserstrom Co. bought Breckenridge Kitchen Equipment & Design. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Breckenridge will continue to operate from its Huron, Ohio, offices, per a release announcing the transaction.
The deal strengthens The Wasserstrom Company’s “equipment project management capabilities” and furthers its “ability to offer advanced kitchen design,” the release added. Founded in 1935, Breckenridge specializes in the planning, design, and furnishing of foodservice operations throughout the United States, with an emphasis on hospitality, healthcare, education, and restaurant markets, the release noted. The company has “expertise in design, project management, administration, and installation,” the release added.
The Wasserstrom Company reported annual revenues of $716.0 million in 2024, making it the third largest foodservice equipment and supplies dealer in the country, per FE&S 2025 Distribution Giants Study. FE&S honored Wasserstrom with its Dealer of the Year Award in 2024. Breckenridge reported annual revenues of $21.02 million in 2024, making it the 69th largest dealer in the country.
In terms of its sales, Breckenridge reports that 90% comes from heavy equipment, 8% from light equipment and 2% from furnishings. The Wasserstrom Company, in contrast, has a more diverse set of revenue streams, with 20% coming from heavy equipment, 15% light equipment, 35% smallwares, 20% tabletop, 4% paper/disposables, 5% janitorial/sanitation products and 1% furnishings, per data submitted for FE&S Distribution Giants Study.
