2025 State of the Giants - Small Firms, Big Giants

Small Firms, Big Giants

Among the sea of small dealerships struggling to grow, however, a handful stand out for achieving revenue gains of 20% or more looking at 2023 to 2024 year-over-year data. During that period, the Distribution Giants group as a whole grew by only 3.84%. 


Year-Over-Year Growth

FE&S 2025 Distribution Giants study shows four companies in the Top 100 grew revenue greater than 20%. Victor Products Corp. grew its revenue the most in terms of year-over-year growth, landing at $12.82 million in 2024 year-end sales and earning the firm its first spot on the Top 100.

Victor Products Corp.

Richmond, Va.

Founded: 1953

President: Brian Lynn

Backstory: The company’s founder, Victor Zinder, had a strong interest in the concessions industry, working his way up the ladder at a concession supply company prior to World War II. After the war, he started selling items out of his car and eventually started producing snow cone syrup in-house and later popcorn tubs. His sons, Mitch and Marty, took over the business when Victor died and started a commercial kitchen division in 1992 centered around equipping and designing commercial kitchens.

Jean’s Restaurant Supply

Corpus Christi, Texas

Founded: 1983

President and owner: David Mostaghasi

Backstory: Jean’s Restaurant Supply has two showrooms in Texas (Corpus Christi and McAllen) in addition to its warehouse/corporate office in Corpus Christi. The company renovated and expanded into its main warehouse and office in Corpus Christi in 2004.

LACE Foodservice Corp.

Miami

Founded: 1982

President: Luis H. Fernandez Senior

Backstory: After starting in the industry in 1971 with a large equipment dealer, Luis H. Fernandez Senior started a dealership of own in 1982. The name “LACE” is a derivative of his family: L for Luis, A for his late wife Angela, C for Carlos (vice president) and E for Elizabeth (office manager). The company has come a long way from its home office start. LACE’s home base now includes a warehouse, showroom and offices for the company’s 10-person staff. Fernandez Sr. says he has no interest in selling the business (he has been approached a few times) and is pleased that he now has two grandchildren working for the company — he is hoping a third joins soon. “In the end, this is for them,” he says.

MAP Restaurant Supplies

Newark, N.J.

Founded: 1994

CEO: Paul Pimentel

Backstory: A second-generation family-owned dealership, MAP Restaurant Supplies began as a passion project when Manny Pimentel and Arthur Pimentel (both immigrants) began importing hand-painted clay pots and traditional housewares from Portugal. The business served a niche market while the brothers-in-law maintained other full-time careers. The company transitioned beyond a side venture when Paul Pimentel, Manny’s son, came on board in 2014. He brought startup energy to the company and plans to continue to the journey as a fast-growing dealer with a national presence.
