Bob Don, 89 years old, died on October 20, 2025. Before his retirement, Bob Don was the second generation of the Don family to lead Edward Don & Company.
Bob DonBob Don served as CEO and chairman of the board for the foodservice equipment and supplies dealership that’s now based in Woodridge, Ill.
“My father and mentor entrusted me with the responsibility of running the family business as the third generation of the Don family,” said Steve Don, CEO & President of Edward Don & Company. “I am deeply saddened by his passing and profoundly grateful for his extraordinary guidance, vision, and example. He was not only an icon in our industry but also a remarkable leader and person. His legacy will continue to guide how we lead, serve and care for our people and our customers every day.”
Under Bob Don’s leadership, Edward Don & Company was named FE&S Dealer of the Year in 1993. And, in 2004, Bob Don became the second recipient of FE&S Hall of Fame Award.
Bob Don is survived by his wife Charlotte; children Abbe Don and Steven Don; two grandchildren and other family members. Bob Don was preceded in death by his parents and by his son, Adam Don, per an obituary.
