It is with a heightened sense of gratitude that I approach this holiday season, especially as I look through the pictures and read the coverage of the 2022 Foodservice Equipment & Design Global Thought Leadership Summit. I am thankful for the entire Zoomba Group team who stepped up in my absence to make sure we had a magnificent event.
A few years ago, while receiving an award from Folio Magazine in New York City, Eric Uhl, one of our award-winning designers, was asked to describe in five words what made being part of Zoomba Group unique and without missing a beat he said, “ … everyone has got your back.” Those have become watchwords for us over the years and it was my turn to feel the relief that comes with knowing that your teammates have your back this time around.
I would also like to thank those sponsoring companies who saw the value in what we endeavored to do with FED; namely, to bring together smart people from various aspects of the hospitality industry who do not normally have much of a chance to interact around a tight agenda of thoughtful presentations modeled off TED Talks. The results were even better than hoped for and we look forward to sharing the resulting content. You can find a photo recap of the event and watch all of the presentations in their entirety at fedthoughtleadership.com. You will be glad that you invested the time.
Lastly, I would like to thank the people who made time to be at FED. We know that you have a lot of choices on where to spend your valuable time. We are honored that you chose to spend it with us. And, not merely as passive conference attendees, but as invested participants who came armed with questions, opinions and suggestions for solving some of the industry’s most pressing issues.
As a reader-driven publication, FE&S will continue to be in print 12 times in 2023. As I have reiterated from this space over the years, we are an original content creation company and our primary customer is you, the reader. We remain available digitally to qualified readers, but as long as readers continue to prefer the printed copy in subscription renewals, we are committed to bringing you the printed version as a part of our overall offerings.
All the best,
Maureen
