Any dealer sales rep worth their salt has developed the ability to adapt to unexpected changes. In real life, orders don’t always come in on time, plans and circumstances around installations change, and sometimes the wider world imposes with unanticipated disruptions.
Such was the case for all of us last month as the North American Association of Food Equipment Manufacturers cancelled The NAFEM Show; a decision I wholeheartedly support. While all of us — exhibitors and attendees alike — had to adjust our plans, we all need to roll with these unexpected times. It also means for FE&S, our Dealer of the Year and All Industry Awards Gala has been pushed back once again to May 21 of 2022 when we will gather at the Four Seasons Hotel in Chicago.
The toughest part for us is missing the chance to recognize our deserving 2020 and 2021 award winners and personally hand out the awards in a room filled with industry leaders. Winners like Gordon Marsh, our 2021 DSR of the Year from Edward Don & Company. Please take the time to read Gordon’s story, which you can find here.
Also of note is the special products section on page 84 from our advertising partners, highlighting their products that were to be shown at The NAFEM Show.
We will continue to bring you these inspiring stories and practical knowledge in the pages of FE&S, available digitally at FESmag.com at the start of every month and mailed directly to your home or office in print at your direction.
On Sept. 16, we will present a webcast on Food Safety —Cleaning and Sanitation, marking the 15th year that Joe Carbonara and the editorial team have been creating these original webcasts. Then on Oct. 14, Oct. 28 and Nov. 9, our Foodservice Equipment & Design Global Thought Leadership Summit will come to you in the form of a series of virtual lunch and learn webcasts. Please sign up for free at FESmag.com/events and to receive notifications and invitations for all our well attended online events. You also may receive continuing education unit credits.
All the best,
Maureen
