What’s the most important lesson you have learned?
You can never be too prepared, but at the same time, nothing will ever go as planned. This is an environment where adaptability, flexibility and quick-thinking are absolutely necessary.
What’s the best career advice you have been given?
Research, keep an open mind and network! I involved myself in several aspects of nutrition so that I could make an informed decision about my career path. It is also extremely beneficial to find mentors along the way.
What attracted you to the industry?
I was attracted to the hands-on, fast-paced, dynamic environment. I learn something new every single day and have never been so challenged in my life.
What has been your proudest accomplishment?
Winning Gold at the 2011 AHF Culinary Competition!
Describe the biggest challenge you have overcome.
My biggest challenge was working 5 jobs while going to school full-time in preparation of becoming an RD.
