Scale Calibration

When it comes to scales, basic rules of calibration are often overlooked. But the fact remains that extended usage, bad handling, electricity interruptions and other factors can impact the accuracy of this equipment.

Keeping scales properly calibrated not only extends the service life and minimizes production downtime but also ensures consistency, performance and regulatory compliance.

Experts recommend that scales used an hour or less per day be professionally calibrated annually, while those being used between one and two hours per day be serviced twice a year. Quarterly calibration service is advised for scales used three to four hours a day, and monthly calibration is necessary for units used five or more hours daily.
