Convenience stores, Mexican restaurants, resorts and many more operations offer frozen beverages. Whether your frozen beverage maker/dispenser produces slushies for kids or margaritas for grown-ups, you can take several steps to keep them running smoothly.
- Clean the dispenser components and drip tray daily.
- Frozen beverage makers include lots of moving parts. Keep food-grade lubricant on hand to keep these parts moving smoothly.
- Clean and inspect gaskets and other seals regularly. These will naturally wear out over time and should be replaced as they show signs of aging. Some factories recommend that these parts be washed by hand instead of a dish machine since hand washing is gentler and more likely to extend component life.
- Ice and foam can form in the machine’s hopper, the area where the frozen beverage is stored prior to dispensing. Staffers should keep an eye on this build-up and remove it regularly. This ensures product quality and can prevent jams.
