Foodservice equipmment and supplies manufacturer Vollrath adds to its diverse product line through this acquisition from Libbey.

Vollrath Corp., a Sheyboygan, Wis.-based foodservice equipment and supplies manufacturer, has acquired Traex Co. from Libbey Glass Inc. Traex manufactures warewashing systems and plastic products for commercial kitchens.

For its part, Vollrath anticipates the transition to be a smooth one. Libbey will continue to handle all of the orders, shipping, customer service, etc. After July 1, the Vollrath sales force will begin selling the Traex product line.

Because we have many of the same customers, it is in the best interest of both Vollrath and Libbey to ensure a smooth and seamless transition" said Dennis Park, vice president of foodservice sales for The Vollrath Co. "Sixty days give us time to get our systems and management in place to start running the business. So between now and July 1, it is business as usual and the transition will likely go unnoticed by our customers."

The Traex product line includes: tabletop accessories, bar supplies, food preparation products, dispensers and trays.
