Private equity firm Centerbridge Capital Partners has acquired Gordon Biersch Restaurant Group and Rock Bottom Restaurant Group. Both Gordon Biersch and Rock Bottom will maintain their brands and become subsidies of Centerbridge’s newly formed CraftWorks Restaurants & Breweries division.
Allen Corey, an original investor and 13-year CEO of Gordon Biersch, is the president and CEO of the newly formed CraftWorks. He brings more than 18 years of restaurant experience to the position. Key executives from Gordon Biersch have assumed senior leadership roles within the new company, according to a press release announcing the deal.
CraftWorks' primary concepts will include Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant, Old Chicago, and Rock Bottom Restaurant Brewery. Combined, Gordon Biersch and Rock Bottom operate close 200 locations nationwide.
CenterBridge purchased Gordon Biersch from Hancock Park Associates, a private equity firm. Exact terms of the deal were not disclosed.
