In a deal involving two multiline foodservice equipment and supplies manufacturers, CFS Brands has acquired Cornerstone Foodservice Group.
This represents CFS Brands’ second acquisition this year. In February, CFS Brands acquired Mercer Cutlery.
Cornerstone is based in Naperville, Ill., and it has manufacturing operations in Spokane, Wash., Providence, R.I. and Morrow, Ga. ShoreView Industries created Cornerstone in September of 2016 when the private equity firm acquired Spring USA, a maker of induction cooking and buffet equipment. Some notable acquisitions made by Cornerstone include the 2017 deal for LloydPans, a maker of pizza pans, baking pans and accessories, and the 2024 deal for Equipex, which makes countertop cooking and finishing equipment, ventless hoods, Roller Grill and Adventys products. Other brands in the Cornerstone portfolio include Versa-Gard food protection systems and Astra espresso machines and steamers.
The Cornerstone brands will continue to operate as stand-alone entities within CFS Brands, per a release announcing the deal. “Customers and suppliers can expect business as usual, with ongoing interactions conducted as they are today,” the release added.
“We are excited to work with the leadership team at Cornerstone Foodservice Group, and we welcome all CFG employees to CFS Brands, added Trent Freiberg, CEO of CFS Brands.
