Multiconcept operator Ascent Hospitality Management hired Paul Damico to serve as its CEO. He replaces James O’Reilly as the CEO for the parent company of family dining chains Huddle House and Perkins.

In his new role, Damico will “explore opportunities to expand Ascent's portfolio through the acquisition of additional brands that align with the company's growth strategy, vision, and values.”

Prior to joining Ascent, Damico served as CEO at Fuzzy's Taco Shop, Global Franchise Group and Naf Naf Middle Eastern Grill. He has also held several senior leadership positions at Focus Brands, Inc., which now goes to market as GoTo Foods.

O’Reilly joined Ascent in 2023 and during this tenure, the company’s Perkins brand underwent a variety of changes. Examples include renaming the chain Perkins American Food Co. and developing Griddle & Go, a fast-casual spinoff.
