McDonald’s Canada appointed Annemarie Swijtink president and chief executive officer, effective September 1, 2025. She will replace Michèle Boudria, who intends to retire after 40 years with the company. Swijtink currently serves as managing director of McDonald’s Netherlands.
Annemarie SwijtinkBoudria started with McDonald's as a crew member in 1984 in Quebec. She has held various senior roles in both regional, national and international corporate offices, including managing director for the Netherlands, before becoming the first woman president and CEO of McDonald’s Canada in 2022.
Swijtink has served in her current role since June 2022. She began her McDonald's career as a crew member and worked her way to the McDonald's Netherlands headquarters, where she has been since 2006. Since that time, she has held progressively senior, strategic roles across marketing, digital customer engagement, impact and data analytics.
