Longtime AVETC Industries executive Bruce Zimmerman died on March 10, 2025, after battling cancer and Alzheimer’s disease.

Zimmerman graduated from Drexel University in 1961 and in 1968 he moved to Chicago, where he launched AVTEC Industries, per an obituary announcing Zimmerman’s passing. Zimmerman retired as CEO and chairman of AVTEC Industries.
Zimmerman is survived by his Johanna, sons Mark and Rick, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Lena and George Zimmerman and sister Audrey Gibson.
Services for Zimmerman will take place in Naples, Fla., later this Spring. In lieu of flowers, the family requests sending any memorial contributions to the Naples Community Church and St Matthew House in Naples.
