Thomas Belot, former president and CEO of The Vollrath Company, passed away on November 23, 2024. He was 74 years old.
Belot joined Vollrath in 1978 as director of management systems and rose through the company ranks. He retired as president and CEO in 2009. During his time with Vollrath, Belot was instrumental in “championing investments in automation and technology that solidified the company’s position for the future,” per a company release.
“Tom Belot was a visionary leader who deeply cared about Vollrath and its people,” said Erik Lampe, current president and CEO of The Vollrath Company. “His contributions to our company and community have left an indelible mark, and his legacy will continue to guide us as we look to the future. Our thoughts are with his family during this difficult time.”
Belot was very active in the community, too. He helped create a Business Healthcare Coalition in Sheboygan County, Wisconsin, that negotiated healthcare costs, impacting more than 25% of the local population, per the company release. He also held leadership roles in numerous non-profit organizations.
Belot is survived by his wife Diane; their children Michael Belot and Erin Ott; five grandchildren and two brothers.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Belot’s memory to the United Way of Sheboygan County, Wisconsin.
