SHFM Names 2024 Award Winners

The Society for Hospitality & Foodservice Management recognized a quartet of individuals with the organization’s annual Directors’ Awards and named the recipient of its 2024 Rising Young Professional Award.

  • Community Service Award: Mboone Umbima of David Rio Chai & Tea was the recipient of the award that recognizes a member who “has gone above and beyond to help support the corporate foodservice and workplace hospitality industry, as well as their local community.”
  • Spirit Award: Sandy Lim Edwards of ISS Guckenheimer and Amy Lewis of Kitchens To Go were presented this award that recognizes “an individual who consistently demonstrates the qualities of loyalty, dedication and enthusiasm for the Society.”
  • Leadership Award: Davin Wickstrom of Viverau Advanced Water Systems received this award that recognizes an “individual whose work on behalf of SHFM and the corporate foodservice and workplace hospitality industry has resulted in the demonstration of outstanding leadership qualities.”

In addition, SHFM presented the Rising Young Professional Award to Brad Silverstein of Restaurant Associates. This award “recognizes an emerging individual who has been a standout among our newest members, supporting the initiatives of the Society through their active engagement and participation in SHFM committees and activities.”
