Pizza University hired Leo Spizzirri to serve as its director of education.
Pizza University provides master classes designed to train restaurant owners, caterers, and other aspiring pizzaioli on pizza-making practices and industry support. It’s headquartered in Beltsville, Md.
Spizzirri's professional background includes working in commercial artisan bread and frozen pizza, per a release announcing his hiring. He has worked with national brands throughout the U.S. and Canada. Spizzirri is also a member of the World Pizza Champions Team and he holds the distinction of being 1 of only 100 worldwide Master Instructors from the Scuola Italiana Pizzaioli in Venice, Italy.
