Jeff Klein was appointed president of Popeyes U.S. and Canada. He replaces Sami Siddiqui who was named chief financial officer for Popeyes parent company Restaurant Brands International.
In addition, Thiago Santelmo was appointed RBI’s president of international. He succeeds David Shear, who will remain with the company for a year as an advisor and assist in the transition. At a later date, Popeyes will name a new president of its EMEA region and chief marketing officer ("CMO") for Popeyes will be named at a later date.
Siddiqui has been at RBI for 11 years, including eight years as brand president for Popeyes in Miami, all of the company’s brands in the Asia Pacific region and Tim Hortons in Toronto.
Klein joined the Popeyes leadership team two years ago as chief marketing officer. His background also includes serving as CMO for Little Caesar’s and in senior marketing roles for PepsiCo.
