Remembering Tom Cassin

Tom Cassin passed away on January 20, 2024. Cassin spent more than 50 years in the foodservice industry. His background included leadership roles with manufacturers such as Pitco and Blodgett.

thomas casin hsTom Cassin“Many knew Tom as “Mr. Pitco.” He had a tremendous input on not only Pitco’s growth during his decades with us, but most importantly he was integral in building the brand’s positive reputation,” said Tim FitzGerald, Middleby CEO. “We have Tom to thank for the current innovative and can-do Pitco culture as well as the strength of the Pitco brand in the marketplace. He genuinely loved the products and people in our industry, and it showed.”

Throughout his career, Cassin was very active with various industry organizations and earned a variety of accolades. He spent six years serving on the board of directors for the North American Association of Food Equipment Manufacturers. In 2007 Cassin received the William W. Carpenter Award, which NAFEM considers its highest honor. In 2001, Cassin received the Market Mover Award from the Manufacturers’ Agents Association for the Foodservice Equipment Industry.

Cassin is survived by a brother, James, three daughters and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia, and one daughter.
