Playa Bowls named restaurant industry veteran Dan Harmon as CEO of the chain specializing in superfruit bowls. Harmon succeeds Playa Bowls’ co-founder Rob Giuliani, who will continue on as the company’s chief innovation officer thus giving him a role in the concept’s strategic development.

Harmon most recently served as president and chief operations officer for Smoothie King. His background also includes working in leadership positions with such multi-unit restaurant concepts as Papa Murphy's, Potbelly Sandwich Works, Blockbuster and McDonald's.

Playa Bowls, which was founded in 2014, has more than 175 locations spread across 20 states.
