Sloan Names VP of Sustainability

Commercial plumbing equipment manufacturer Sloan appointed Dr. Paul Sambanis to serve as its vice president of sustainability.

Paul Sambanis PhotoIn this role, Sambanis will focus on developing, implementing, and monitoring sustainability goals throughout the organization, while generating new opportunities to improve environmental performance and compliance, per a release. Sambanis will also work as the liaison for the United States Green Building Council and International Well Building Institute, while providing LEED and WELL guidance.

Sambanis joins Sloan after six years at Henkel Corporation as its North America sustainability and environment manager where he managed a sustainability program that acted on global initiatives for 26 manufacturing facilities across the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico.

Prior to his work at Henkel, Sambanis was the interim Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) manager at UOP, LLC (a subsidiary of Honeywell), as well as a regulatory ambassador at True Value.

In addition to his new role with Sloan, Sambanis currently works as an adjunct assistant professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he develops course content, research materials for publications and environmental justice, sustainability, and resilience planning conference presentations for the university.
