Elior Updates Leadership Team

Elior North America, a contract foodservice operator, promoted three members of its leadership team and hired two more executives.

Trish Spellman has been promoted to president of Elior’s healthcare and senior living business unit. She most recently served as managing director. Spellman joined Cura Hospitality, Elior’s healthcare and senior living operation in 2016.

Paul Kowalczyk has been promoted to president of Elior’s education unit. Kowalczyk served as managing director since 2018. He joined the company’s Aladdin Campus Dining unit in 1999 and 10 years later was promoted to vice president of operations.

John Kirk was promoted to president of Community Meals. His area of responsibility includes TRIO Community Meals, provider of senior nutrition meals; Traditions, a USDA meal manufacturer and LiveWell with Traditions, which provides meal delivery for managed care organizations and Medicare Advantage plans.

In addition, Chris Aquilino joined Elior North America as culinary development chef. Aquilino will lead menu innovation, concept development, and sustainable culinary solutions for this segment. Aquilino will also work closely with the corporate development team to create sustainable programs. Aquilino has been the owner/principal of a full-service, end-to-end foodservice consultant agency, served as the culinary director of Charlotte’s Lab Test Kitchen, and prior to that, served as the corporate executive chef of Envision Group for Compass Group.

Finally, Tom Heim joined Elior North America as general counsel.
