On the heels of completing its acquisition of Welbilt, multiline foodservice equipment manufacturer Ali Group made a series of executive-level changes, specifically naming company veteran Erik Nommsen chief executive officer of Ali Group North America. In addition, Rob August and Tom Hotard were named senior vice presidents for Ali Group.
In his new role, Nommsen assumes responsibility for all of Ali Group’s companies located within North America, namely: Aladdin Temp-Rite, ACP Inc. (Amana Commercial, Menumaster Commercial, XpressChef), American Dish Service, Belshaw Adamatic, Beverage-Air, the Champion Group (Champion, Bi-Line, Moyer Diebel, Trisys), CMA, Edlund, Electro Freeze, Ice-O-Matic, Kold-Draft, Metro, Montague, Scotsman, and Victory Refrigeration.
Nommsen returned for his second appointment as president of the Champion Group in January 2016. His first tenure lasted six years, from 2008 to 2014. In 2017, Nommsen was named president of the Ali Group North America – Refrigeration Division, which includes Beverage-Air and Victory Refrigeration. Since 2019, Nommsen has served as president of Scotsman Ice Systems.
In his new role, August will provide guidance to Ali Group and Welbilt brands related to business development and strategic accounts, per a company release. He will also continue to interface with industry buying groups, dealers and strategic accounts in North America.
August began his career with the Ali Group in 2006 as executive vice president of Champion Industries and in 2008 transitioned to Beverage-Air, where he was appointed president in 2011. In 2014, August took over the presidency of the Ali Group North America – Refrigeration Division, which includes the group’s two North American refrigeration brands, Beverage-Air and Victory Refrigeration. In 2017, August assumed the role of vice president of business development, a corporate role for Ali Group North America. In 2019, he was promoted to senior vice president of Ali Group North America.
In his new role, Hotard assumes responsibility for advising Ali Group and Welbilt companies on operations and engineering issues and initiatives. He will also interface with Ali Group brands globally by providing manufacturing process and engineering support.
Hotard has served as President of H.C. Duke & Son, LLC/Electro Freeze since 2012. Prior to joining H.C. Duke & Son, LLC/Electro Freeze, he served as executive vice president of Beverage-Air. In 2021, Hotard joined Ali Group North America as senior vice president.
