Ali Group Updates Leadership Roles

Multiline foodservice equipment manufacturer Ali Group made a series of organizational changes that impact several of its operating companies, including ACP, Scotsman Ice Systems and Champion Industries. These changes all take effect Sept. 1, 2019.

Tim Garbett, who has served as president of ACP Inc. since 2006, will retire at the end of this calendar year. On Sept. 1, he will relinquish his role of president but will serve as chairman of ACP until Dec. 31, 2019. Garbett started his career in the home appliance industry in the late 1970s and transitioned to Amana Commercial as a vice president of sales in 1998. He moved up through the company with roles of increasing responsibility and has been the face of ACP for the last decade.

Kevin Clark will assume Garbett’s position as president of ACP. A 35-year veteran of the foodservice equipment industry, Clark started his career with The Wasserstrom Company in 1984. He has held various sales and marketing executive roles with a number of major foodservice equipment manufacturers. Clark has served as president of Scotsman Ice Systems since 2015.

Erik Nommsen will replace Clark as president of Scotsman Ice Systems, replacing Kevin Clark. In January 2016 Nommsen returned to Champion for his second go round as president. In 2017, Nommsen was named chief executive officer of the Ali Group North America - Refrigeration Division and the Champion Group.

Oscar Villa will assume the role of president of the Ali Group North America - Refrigeration Division, which includes Beverage-Air and Victory Refrigeration. Villa joined the Ali Group North America - Refrigeration Division as chief financial officer in 2016 after serving as corporate controller for Ali Group North America from 2014 to 2016.

Will Means will become president of Champion Industries, which includes the company’s Champion, Bi-Line, and Trisys lines. Means joined Champion Industries in June 2007 in a sales quoting role. Over the past 12 years, Means has advanced from regional sales manager to vice president of sales and since September 2017, he has served as general manager of Champion Industries.

Scott Cherevaty has been named president of Champion Moyer Diebel Canada. Cherevaty originally joined Champion Industries as national sales manager in April 2004 and moved to the role of director of sales in January 2008. In October 2010, he took on the role of vice president of sales. Cherevaty was promoted to general manager of Champion Moyer Diebel Canada in November 2015.
