Longtime franchisee Tim Gayhart has acquired Snappy Tomato Pizza from The Deters Company. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Founded in 1978, Snappy Tomato Pizza has 45 locations across 5 states: Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Indiana and New Mexico. A franchisee since 1991, Gayhart owns 5 locations and is the area developer for 13 units.
In the transition, Gayhart will take ownership of the fast-casual chain’s Burlington, Ky., location. This location, along with Gayhart’s Kentucky locations in Villa Hills, Richwood, Dry Ridge and his Indiana sites in Lawrenceburg and Rising Sun will all become corporate units.
The Snappy Tomato Pizza corporate headquarters will remain in Burlington, Ky., alongside the company’s flagship store location. The corporate staff of more than 900 employees and management will remain intact during the ownership transition, per a release.
Gayhart will provide overall support, guidance and resources for all forty-four current locations across Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, Tennessee and New Mexico. The chain also expects to open franchised location later this fall in LaGrange, Ky.
