Denny’s Corporation tapped Kelli Valade to serve as chief executive officer and president, effective June 13, 2022.

Valade will succeed John Miller, who previously announced his retirement, effective August 3, 2022. In addition, Mark Wolfinger, Denny’s president, will retire effective June 1, 2022.

Valade, whose career spans 30 years, most recently served as CEO of Red Lobster, a position she left in April of this year. Her background also includes leadership positions with multiconcept operator Brinker International, working with its Chili’s Bar & Grill chain. Prior to joining Red Lobster, Valade served as CEO of Black Box Intelligence for roughly two years.
