Phil Kafarakis will become president and CEO of the International Foodservice Manufacturers Association, effective November 1, 2021. He takes over for Larry Oberkfell, who announced his intent to return to industry earlier this year. Oberkfell’s time with IFMA spans 12 years.
In his new role, Kafarakis will oversee IFMA's day-to-day operations and will direct the activities of the association in support of policies, goals and objectives established by its board of directors.
Kafarakis’ background includes experience with such companies as Kraft, Jones Dairy Farm, Cargill, and McCormick & Co., where he also served on IFMA's Board of Directors. Most recently, Kafarakis served as president of the Specialty Food Association. He has also served as chief innovation and member advancement officer for the National Restaurant Association.
