Alan Green, a longtime member of the foodservice industry passed away on Jan. 22, 2021. He was 81 years old.
Green held a variety of roles in the foodservice industry but spent the bulk of his career with E&A Restaurant Supply, a Plainfield, N.J., equipment and supplies dealership he founded. Green retired from the company in 2019, after having spent 50 years with the dealer.
Green was an active member of the foodservice industry and over the course of his career he reaped a variety of accolades. He received the Circle of Excellence Award from SEFA, a dealer-based foodservice equipment and supplies buying group. And the Foodservice Equipment Distributors Association presented him with its Lifetime Achievement Award. And the New Jersey Restaurant Association presented E&A Restaurant Supply with its Dealer of the Year award seven times over the years. In addition, the American Jewish Committee presented Green with its National Human Relations Award in 2008.
Green is survived by his wife of 57 years, Barbara; his children, Joel Green and Lori Trachtenberg; a sister, Linda Green and three loving grandchildren.
