Edward Don & Company Adds to Distribution Center Network

Foodservice equipment and supplies dealer Edward Don & Company opened a distribution center in Auburn, Wash.

The 157,000 square foot facility features a staff approximately 80 employees.

Planning for the new distribution center began shortly after Edward Don & Company acquired Kent, Wash.-based Smith & Greene Company in January of 2018. “The added square footage and technology advances in the distribution center will allow us to better service our existing customers while bringing new opportunities to our team,” said Brad Smith, co-president of Smith & Greene.

Bringing this, the dealer’s seventh distribution center, online goes beyond integrating Smith & Greene into Edward Don & Company, however. It may also serve as a platform for additional growth. “The increased presence in the Pacific Northwest market provides tremendous advantages,” said Steve Don, CEO of Edward Don & Company. “We’ll have increased exposure to a vibrant market as well as a springboard into western Canada.”

In 2018, Edward Don & Company reported annual revenues of slightly more than $1 billion, making it the third largest foodservice equipment and supplies dealer in the country, according to FE&S’ 2019 Distribution Giants study.
