Singer Equipment Co., an Elverson, Pa.-based foodservice equipment and supplies dealer, has acquired Ashland Equipment. Purchasing Ashland expands Singer’s presence in the Maryland, Delaware, Washington, D.C. and Virginia markets.
Rod White will continue on as the executive leading the new division which will operate as Ashland Equipment, a division of Singer MD, LLC. Ashland is a contract dealer working with healthcare, higher education, K-12, business and industry, and restaurant operators.
Belcamp, Md.-based Ashland reported revenues of $35.1 million for 2016, making it the 45th largest foodservice equipment and supplies dealer in the country, according to FE&S’ Distribution Giants Study. With annual revenues of $293.92 million in 2016, Singer Equipment Co. is the 6th largest dealer in the country.
This marks the fourth change of ownership among the top 100 foodservice equipment and supplies dealers since August 1. Since that time, Great Lakes West purchased Kessenich’s, private equity firm Centerbridge acquired TriMark USA from Warburg Pincus and foodservice equipment manufacturer Middleby acquired QualServ.
