Former Disney exec to oversee ServSafe's training, education and testing solutions.
The National Restaurant Association appointed Sherman Brown its senior vice president of business and financial strategy for its ServSafe Food Safety Program.
In his new role Brown will oversee the strategic direction, financial management and daily operations of the product and services business for ServSafe. He will oversee ServSafe's training, education and testing solutions.
Previously, Brown served as the NRA's vice president of finance and strategy where he was responsible for the management and direction of strategic business and financial analysis. Before joining the NRA in 2010, Brown was the managing director of finance and planning for Shawmut Design and Construction, a national construction management firm based in Boston, Mass. He has served in various finance, business development and strategy roles for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts over a period of 10 years.
The NRA's ServSafe Program provides comprehensive educational materials to the restaurant industry. More than 5 million foodservice professionals have been certified through the ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification Examination.
