Get On Board with Integrated Water Filtration

The onboard Integrated Water Filtration system on the NEO undercounter ice machine is the first of its kind and easily accessible for replacement. The onboard Integrated Water Filtration system on the NEO undercounter ice machine is the first of its kind and easily accessible for replacement. Ice machines with water filtration improve the taste and clarity of the ice, maintain machine performance by reducing scale build up, reduce operating costs and increase equipment lifespan. In all standard size machines currently on the market, this would require a separate water filter at an additional cost. Locating the filter outside of the machine also requires space.

NEO, with Integrated Water Filtration, is the industry’s first commercial standard size undercounter ice machine with an onboard integrated water filtration system providing higher quality, clearer and better tasting ice right where you need it.

This specially designed filter for NEO reduces sediment, rust and suspended particles as small as 5 microns. It also reduces chlorine taste and odor, microplastics, filterable cysts and hard scale. The machine will count the number of ice making cycles and alert the user when it is time to change out the filter, usually around six months. The filter is easily accessible for replacement.

Manitowoc NEO undercounter ice machines are designed to provide ice right where you need it – within reach.Manitowoc NEO undercounter ice machines are designed to provide ice right where you need it – within reach.NEO requires minimal maintenance and is sustainable, with R290 refrigerant and ENERGY STAR® certification on select models for those who want the best for their business, customers and the environment. The R290 refrigerant is a naturally occurring and more environmentally friendly refrigerant with a lower Global Warming Potential (GWP) compared to more commonly used R404A refrigerant and R134A refrigerant. GWP measures the impact a gas will have on atmospheric warming over a period of time. A lower GWP indicates a lower impact. R290 refrigerant has a GWP of 3, compared to R404A which has a GWP of 3,290 and R134A which has a GWP of 2,530. This increases energy efficiency, which also helps operators reduce their carbon footprint and save on energy costs.

NEO is easy to use, with a visible, instinctual touchpad that alerts when the water filter needs to be changed, bin is full and has service indicators. A removable, forward-sliding storage bin provides easy access to refrigeration components for simpler cleaning and maintenance. The ice maker’s front ventilation makes this line ideal for installation under countertops or adjacent to other equipment.

Select NEO models will also have Manitowoc’s LuminIce II growth inhibitor integrated into the machine. LuminIce II uses a unique 254 nm UVC germicidal call light and 185 nm UVV light to create cold oxygen plasma to defend against viruses and bacteria. It helps to reduce yeast and bacteria growth and slime build up for easier cleaning.

LuminIce II is a helpful addition to an undercounter machine due to of the environment they are placed in and because the frequent opening of the door exposes the food zone to the open air. Any contaminants in the air can get into the ice machine every time the door is opened. LuminIce II helps to keep the food zone cleaner for longer periods of time.

Manitowoc ice machines deliver enduring reliability and performance. With decades of industry experience, the company’s products are designed to withstand the daily demands of foodservice.
