Winston Industries Adds a Pair of Rep Groups 
Winston Industries, a Kentucky-based foodservice equipment manufacturer, has added two independent manufacturers' rep groups to its network.
Operators Report Softer Same-Store Sales; Performance Index Falls Below 100
The National Restaurant Association's Restaurant Performance Index (RPI) stood at 99.9 in May, down 1 percent from April. May's number was the first time in six months that the RPI dipped below 100, which signifies contraction in the index of key industry indicators.

Berlin Named Executive Chef of Twin Peaks
Restaurant industry veteran Lex Berlin has joined Twin Peaks Restaurant as executive chef. He will work with John Franke, executive chef of Twin Peaks' parent company Front Burner Restaurants, to develop menu items and recipes that are in line with the regional chain's comfort food menu.
Whataburger Promotes Atkinson to CEO
Whataburger announced that effective January 1, 2012, Preston Atkinson, current president and COO, will assume the responsibilities of CEO. Tom Dobson will continue his role as chairman of the board of directors for the company.

Virginia "Ginny" Heil, partner at Moccia Enterprises, a New Jersey-based independent manufacturers' rep firm, passed away on June 24. She was 54.
