Commercial foodservice equipment manufacturer Ali Group has purchased Edlund Company, which had been privately held by the Foster family for the past 60 years. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Despite the change in ownership, Edlund will continue to operate from its current facilities in Burlington, Vt. Peter Nordell will remain as Edlund's president and will report directly to Robert Nerbonne, CEO of Ali Group North America.
Edlund's product lines include manual, electric and air-powered can openers; highspeed industrial can opening systems; can crushers; mechanical and digital portion control scales; mechanical and digital receiving scales; electric slicers; knife sharpeners, knife racks and knife sanitizing systems; and tongs.
The Ali Group has 66 companies located in 24 different countries. The company's North American product lines include: Adamatic, Aladdin Temp-Rite, Amana, Belshaw, Beverage-Air, Bi-Line Systems, Burlodge, Carpigiani, Champion, CMA Dishmachines, Electrofreeze, Eloma, Moffat, Moyer Diebel and Victory. ALI Group North America is based in Winston-Salem, N.C.
