Refrigerated Solutions Group plans to close its New Albany, Miss., manufacturing plant where the company makes its Master-Bilt line of refrigeration products. The company will consolidate product manufacturing of both its Master-Bilt and Nor-Lake lines in its Hudson, Wis., plant by Oct. 31, 2020.
The Refrigerated Solutions Group Warehouse in Guntown, Mississippi will remain an ongoing warehouse and distribution operation.
“RSG is committed to maintaining the Master-Bilt brand and will continue to support our customers, sales representatives, service agents and channel partners,” says Kevin Fink, RSG’s CEO. “We wish to extend our appreciation to our employees, customers and channel partners for their support over the years of the Master-Bilt brand and throughout this manufacturing change.”
In explaining the need to close the plant, RSG said in a release “the COVID-19 pandemic has caused sudden, dramatic, and unexpected conditions outside of the company’s control. The unprecedented and major economic downturn and the governmental-forced closures of many of RSG’s customers have contributed to these unforeseeable business conditions.”
Earlier this year, Ten Oaks acquired Refrigerated Solutions Group from Standex for $11 million, per published reports. In June of 2019, a fire severely damaged Master-Bilt’s New Albany facility.
