The Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel, which debuted the first upscale Radisson Blu brand hotel in the United States in Chicago late last year, is pursuing LEED silver certification.
The flagship hotel, located on the first 18 floors of the 81-story Aqua Tower, features Filini, the on-site, two-story contemporary Italian restaurant and bar.
On the restaurant's first floor, a sleek, back-lit white bar lines the room, exposing wood-burning ovens that bake rustic-style pizzas. Across the black-and-white mosaic tile floor, booths feature countertops embedded with flickering LED lights resembling small candles. Upstairs, a glass wine wall greets guests, while a delicatessen display case showcases the handmade and imported charcuterie, salami and cheeses on the menu. Another open
kitchen line adds drama to the space, though silver leather cushions, low-hanging lights and dark gray flooring quiet the room.
