Longtime independent manufacturers' rep Harold A. Hamilton of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada passed away on August 28 from cancer.

Hamilton began his foodservice industry career in 1945 with Bell Rinfret Co. in Montreal. In 1961 he established Agences Hamilton Agencies, a MAFSI member firm and one of the first manufacturers' rep companies in Quebec. Agences Hamilton Agencies is still in operation. Part of Hamilton's professional legacy is the fact that was a believer in the MAFSI principals long before the association was entrenched in Canada. In addition, Hamilton will be remembered as being an ardent defender of the sales person and their needs to perform a task.
