Starbucks (NASDAQ: SBUX) announced a new corporate structure and a series of corresponding personnel moves. Going forward, Starbucks will move to a three-region organizational structure, each with its own president. The company had been structured as Starbucks U.S. and Starbucks Coffee International (SCI).
John Culver, previously president of SCI, will lead Starbucks' China and Asia Pacific region, which includes all Asia Pacific markets and China.
Current Starbucks U.S. president Cliff Burrows The Americas region, which includes the United States, Canada, Mexico and Latin America.
Michelle Gass will lead Starbucks' EMEA Region, which includes Europe, the United Kingdom, the Middle East, Russia and Africa. Gass has been with Starbucks for nearly 15 years in a variety of leadership roles including president of Seattle's Best Coffee, a Starbucks subsidiary.
In related personnel changes, Jeff Hansberry will serve as president of Seattle's Best Coffee, alongside his role as president of global consumer products and foodservice.
Annie Young-Scrivner was appointed president of Tazo, Starbucks' tea brand.
The regional presidents — along with Hansberry and Young-Scrivner — will report directly to CEO Howard Schultz.
