Chain Restaurant Operating Report for April 20

Arby's, Jamba Juice, Red Robin, Shane's Rib Shack and Yum! Brands all made operational news this past week.

Arby's Restaurant Group, Inc. opened its second Army & Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES or the Exchange)-operated Arby's® restaurant in the Exchange at Ft. Stewart, Ga.

Jamba Juice (NASDAQ: JMBA) announced the completion of its refranchise initiative with the sale of 41 stores in the Chicago/Minneapolis markets to J J Maa, Inc. The company, which announced this initiative in May 2009, was successful in completing the sale of 173 stores, exceeding the original goal to refranchise up to 150 stores primarily outside of California, according to a Jamba Juice release. In conjunction with several of the refranchise transactions, development agreements for an aggregate of 52 additional new Jamba Juice stores were entered into as well as commitments to refresh and refurbish select mature stores.

Red Robin Gourmet Burgers, Inc. introduced a new menu in all company-owned restaurants featuring more than a dozen new items and a more user-friendly layout to help guests easily select from more than two dozen gourmet burgers, chicken sandwiches, entrees, appetizers, soups, salads and beverages. New menu items include additions to the Jump Starter appetizers – fresh fried clamstrips, zucchini or mushrooms – and "perfect combos" for guests who have a hard time deciding on just one item to order, among others. These new options are available now in addition to Red Robin's classic signature gourmet burgers, entrees and beverages.

Shane's Rib Shack, a fast-casual barbecue concept, opened a location in Birmingham, Ala., its first in that state. The Birmingham location is owned by Restaurant Collective, LLC, which owns the franchising rights to develop Shane's restaurants in Alabama and Mississippi.

Yum! Brands, Inc. (NYSE:YUM - News) opened the 400th KFC franchise restaurant in Jakarta, Indonesia.
