Arby’s Restaurant Group, Inc., a subsidiary of Wendy’s/Arby’s Group, Inc. (NYSE:WEN), opened its first Army & Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) operated Arby’s restaurant at Ft. Bliss, Texas. The restaurant is located in Freedom Crossing, the first-ever open-shopping center on a U.S. military installation. Earlier this year, Arby’s signed a development agreement with AAFES to develop restaurants on U.S. military installations. Under that agreement, development of additional restaurants is currently under way in Ft. Carson, Colo., and Ft. Lewis, Wash. Arby’s and AAFES are conducting preliminary work to explore other expansion options at U.S. military installations.
Einstein Noah Restaurant Group, Inc. (NASDAQ:BAGL), operator of the quick-casual restaurant concepts Einstein Bros. Bagels, Noah's New York Bagels, and Manhattan Bagel brands, announced that total revenues increased 1.3 percent to $101.4 million for its third quarter ended Sept. 28, 2010. System-wide comparable restaurant sales and comparable transactions increased 0.7 percent.
Famous Dave’s of America (Nasdaq:DAVE) opened a new barbeque restaurant in Philadelphia, Pa. This represents the fourth Famous Dave's location in Pennsylvania, and the third in the city of Philadelphia.
LongHorn Steakhouse opened a location in Castleton, Ind.
For its fiscal third quarter ending Sept. 25, 2010, McCormick & Schmick’s Seafood Restaurants, Inc. (Nasdaq:MSSR) reported revenues decreased 1.3 percent to $84.9 million. Sales at the chain’s comparable stores decreased 4.6 percent during the period.
O’Charley’s Inc. (Nasdaq:CHUX) reported revenue decreased 1.2 percent to $191.7 million for its third quarter ending Oct. 3, 2010.
Casual dining restaurant chain Red Robin Gourmet Burgers, Inc., (NASDAQ:RRGB), reported revenue increased 4.2 percent to $191.6 million for its third quarter ending Oct. 3, 2010. Red Robin also reported company-owned comparable restaurant sales increased 0.9 percent.
Seattle’s Best Coffee, LLC, opened a franchised location in Chicago. The company operates eight locations in Chicago.
Smashburger signed a franchise development agreement with STL Smash to open up to 12 units in the St. Louis market, the burger chain’s first in Missouri.
