Chain Restaurant Report for Oct. 13, 2010

Energy Kitchen, Jamba Juice, Kona Grill and Ruby Tuesday all announce expansion and operating news.

Energy Kitchen, a Manhattan-based fast-casual chain with a health-centric menu, signed an area development agreement for six restaurants in Florida's Miami-Dade County.

Jamba Juice (NASDAQ: JMBA) signed store development agreements with three new franchisees. These deals will generate a total of 13 new stores across the Boston, New Orleans and South Bend, Ind., markets.

Kona Grill (Nasdaq:KONA), opened a restaurant in downtown Baltimore

Ruby Tuesday, Inc. (NYSE:RT) reported same-store restaurant sales increased 2.1 percent for company-owned locations and 0.4 percent at franchised units for its fiscal first quarter ending Aug. 31, 2010. In addition, Ruby Tuesday reported total revenue increased 0.7 percent from the same period last year.
