The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill named Angelo Freites vice president of operations for the fast-casual chain.
Freites’ restaurant and franchising career spans more than 40 years serving in various capacities. He has worked his way up from a dishwasher to becoming CEO of a large QSR brand, per a release. He has owned several quick-service restaurants as a multi-unit franchisee, including Wendy’s, Checkers Drive-In and Popeyes. In recent years, Freites shifted his focus to consulting with emerging and established restaurant brands.
The chain plans to open 20 restaurants in 2023 and enter 6 new states. During the first quarter of 2023, The Great Greek opened two locations, expanding its footprint into California for the first time. “I’m so excited to join this concept at a pivotal point in its journey and leverage my expertise to streamline and enhance its operations during what will continue to be a significant growth phase for the brand,” says Freites in a statement.
Additionally, The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill welcomed back Tricia Rowe to its franchise support team as a trainer-business advisor. Rowe will use The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill’s training protocols to support all aspects of new restaurant openings.
