Biscuit Belly hired Lisa Dwelly to serve as vice president of operations and training for the Kentucky-based “craft casual” brunch restaurant. The move is designed to support the fledgling chain as it prepares for a growth spurt.
A restaurant industry veteran with more than 30 years of experience, Dwelly’s resume includes serving as vice president of training operations at Torchy’s Tacos and as the senior director of training at Texas Roadhouse.
In her new role at Biscuit Belly, Dwelly has created both manager-in-training and in-store training programs to develop and support the chain’s franchisees. These efforts will support franchisees through their new store openings, offering a full team of trainers, follow-up calls or visits, and making time for them to connect with corporate leaders.
Biscuit Belly has 5 locations in operation and another 20 in development, per a company release. The company plans to have seven locations operational by the end of 2022. The chain’s expansion plans will focus on the South and Midwest.
