AutoQuotes has acquired Axonom, a technical company that provides guided selling, visual configuration, spatial planning and VR/AR solutions.
With this acquisition, manufacturers working with AutoQuotes will have access to enhanced digital selling capabilities when working with foodservice equipment and supplies dealers, reps and other members of the supply chain.
The Axonom product line allows users to take a participating manufacturer’s product and let operators and dealers better understand its unique attributes by visually configuring it. For example, on a piece of equipment this could include changing colors, adding casters, etc. Then the system can virtually place the item in a foodservice setting, allowing dealers, operators and others participating in the purchasing process to see how it will look in that location, the impact it will have on space allocation and more.
While plenty of design-related products offer project teams the chance to visualize a foodservice operation, Axonom appears designed to play a very specific role. “Revit is for anyone that does design work. This accelerates the sales flow,” says David Demres, AutoQuotes’ vice president of business development. “This is an opportunity to help foodservice equipment and supplies manufacturers embrace the digital arena more fully. Manufacturers right now are spending money on systems that will build for this.”
Factories and dealers working with AQ will be able to attach the product selling items for a specific product and eventually create a bill of sale. The intent is to enhance the product information dealers can share with their customers and further streamline the purchasing process.
In addition to working with its existing client base in the foodservice industry, the addition of Axonom could lead AQ into other industries. “While AQ’s traditional focus has been [foodservice equipment and supplies], we look forward to extending our end-to-end value proposition to other sectors in which Axonom is already a leader, such as data centers, clinical environments, and fitness and leisure centers,” says Jim Contardi, AutoQuotes CEO.
